Wide range of uses,
versatility in their
composition

Carbon steels are structural and/or mechanical construction steels. They have a low (C<0.25%) or medium
(0.25<C<0.55%) carbon content. It is one of the most widely used steels due to its versatility.
Carbon steels are ideal for:

Technical and mechanical characteristics of carbon steels

Structural type carbon steel with resistance of 51 to 65 kg / mm2.

It has excellent machining, easy weldability and good mechanical properties.
Good suitability for cold forming.

Due to being a traditionally used steel, we have extensive experience in real cases in truly varied applications.

Applications:
It is used for construction of machinery, structures, boilermaking, bodywork, tippers, bridges, railways, tanks, and much more.

Carbon steel for mechanical construction.
When the steel is cut by oxy-fuel cutting, surface hardness is generated. It is therefore necessary to apply a subsequent annealing or stabilising treatment.

It can be hot formed. For cold forming, it must be taken into account that prior annealing is necessary.
Its surface can be hardened up to 55 HRC by tempering. For welding, it is recommended to preheat to 200-250ºC and carry out controlled cooling.

Applications:
Steel for construction of moulds and tools, pieces or large structures, support plates, guides, agriculture and in general for elements of machines with good resistance.
